Over the past 2 years Freestyle Salon and Day Spa has been transformed. A huge modern addition has been added to the salon, and the upstairs has been made into a private and serene day spa.
It is critical to offer the latest services in the most up to date way, but it was also very important that we kept the integrity of our 1860’s era build alive. The original building was built in 1860 and an addition was added in about 1916. Many treasures that had been buried for almost a hundred years were uncovered during the demolition process and are now lovingly displayed in the salon.
In addition to these treasures the salon has been designed to expose as much of the original detailing as possible including much of the original millwork. To enhance all of the items found inside the walls, many period touches have been added as a reminder of the buildings past. Chippendale chairs have been added to the reception room and sheet music from the 1915 era has been framed and added. Many early photographs of Newtown also adorn the walls.
The second floor of the salon has now been transformed exclusively for spa services. The addition of new treatment rooms and a manicure/pedicure room assures clients a relaxed and private atmosphere. The theme in the upstairs spa is "love" or as we like to say "A warm embrace". From the moment you set foot on the stairs the atmosphere is hushed and warm. Various pieces of art are hung that intrigue the viewer with thoughts on love and togetherness. The banister is original to the building, and the hardwood floors and much of the trim have been restored to their original condition.
We will continue to listen to the needs of our clients and are now offering couples massage, and private men’s grooming services so that our male clients feel more comfortable.
